Drugs seizures in Roscrea
Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit seized almost €40,000 worth of suspected illegal substances in two operations conducted in Roscrea last week.
Cocaine with an estimated street value of €7,000, subject to analysis, was seized during a search in the town on Wednesday. Mixing agent and other items that gardaí believe were associated with the drug were also seized.
The following day, members of the Divisional Drugs Unit carried out another search operation in Roscrea. This resulted in the seizure of €22,000 worth of suspected cannabis and another quantity of cocaine valued at €10,000. One male was arrested and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Meanwhile, gardaí are seeking witness information over the theft of a number of items from a car parked in Nenagh's Friar St Car Park. It is believed that the items were stolen in the early hours of Thursday last.
A male was arrested after property was stolen from a shed at Clonbealy, Newport, last Saturday. The property was recovered and the male has been charged in relation to the matter.
