GAA: All-Ireland Minor Football Tier 2 Quarter Final

Derry 3-13

Tipperary 0-16

The curtain was brought down on the Tipperary Minor Footballers campaign for 2025 after a six-point defeat to Derry in the quarter final of the Tier 2 All-Ireland Series on Saturday in Stamullen, Co. Meath.

Just five days after a heart-breaking, energy-sapping, extra time defeat to Cork in the Munster semi-final, Tipperary picked themselves up to produce another impressive performance with Derry’s ability to get goals the difference between the sides whereas Tipp created three goal chances but didn’t convert any.

Tipp also shot eleven wides and their score chance conversion of 16/32 was in contrast to Derry who had just 21 scoring chances, but converted sixteen.

Captain Ned O’Meara was once again to the fore contributing eleven points, five from play.

This was a hugely encouraging campaign for Tipperary who played six championship games, winning three, including the Darrel Darcy Cup final against Clare, while also being competitive in narrow defeats to Cork and Derry.
