Raising a cuppa for Alzheimer Society

Nenagh Arts Centre and Nenagh Tourist Office hosted a Tea Party on May 1 to celebrate Alzheimer’s Tea Day. The Alzheimer Society of Ireland’s Tea Day events are all about celebrating precious moments of respite and care that mean so much to families living with dementia.

Tea day fundraisers were held across the country but the lovely people of Nenagh certainly made this one feel special. Sweet treats were kindly donated by Quigley’s Bakery and Mad Hatter Tea Party props were provided by Finnerty’s Chemist.

Attendees had the opportunity to pose for photos on the day as a way to take home a physical memory to be held and revisited. Nenagh Arts Centre and Nenagh Tourist Office want to express a huge thank you to the generous people of Nenagh for helping us to raise €520 in less than two hours for the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.

Some kind attendees had even been to more than one fundraiser on the same day. A special thank you should also be extended to the local business’ who very generously donated some fabulous prizes for the raffle on the day. The Nenagh Credit Union, Heather Fashion Accessories 96 Silver Street, The Nenagh Bookshop and the Abbey Court Hotel all played a major role in the event’s success.

Thank you, Nenagh.
