Plan for Nenagh supermarket

Tipperary Co Council has received a planning application in respect of Supervalu Nenagh, formerly O'Connors Kenyon St Market.

Cedarglade Ltd is seeking permission for the demolition of the single-storey entrance lobby, single-storey stores and two-storey stores to the east elevation. A revised shopfront to the Kenyon Street (west elevation) is planned to include new shopfront, signage and glazing at ground floor level, as well as window replacement at first and second floor levels and revised lighting.

A revised shopfront to Abbey Street (north elevation) with associated signage and glazing is also planned, along with revised rear (east) elevation to provide new shopfront, wall finishes, glazing and associated signage. Internal alterations to accommodate new retail fitout at ground floor level and ancillary areas at first floor level are also planned.

The application further seeks installation of an external plant area at roof level, revised car parking layout, construction of low-level wall with railing above along the northern boundary, installation of Deposit Return scheme unit, and all associated ancillary site and drainage works.

A decision from the council is due by June 1.
