Cocaine seized in Nenagh district
The Garda Divisional Drugs Units had a busy week with €16,700 worth of cocaine seized in three searches between Ballina and Roscrea.
An individual was stopped and searched in the Ballina area on Wednesday of last week. Suspected cocaine valued at €700 was recovered. Gardaí searched a premises in Ballina on Sunday and a further €2,000 worth of the drug was found.
Another search was conducted at a premises in Roscrea last Thursday and around €14,000 worth of suspected cocaine was seized. Investigations are continuing and files are being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Gardaí are also investigating a report of illegal hunting at Ballyea, Rathcabbin, on Wednesday of last week. A number of males were observed in the area during the day. CCTV footage is being examined and witness information is sought.
Another burglary was reported last week, this time at Townlough, Portroe. Gardaí are carrying out inquiries and using CCTV evidence as part of the investigation.
