Newport slip back into relegation zone

Regional United 6-2 Newport Town
There was no luck for Newport Town in the Premier League as they fell to a heavy defeat to Regional United on Saturday evening.
Needing points to escape the drop zone, Newport came up against a bang in form Regional XI who ran in six goals through Isak Lynch (2), Adam Fitzpatrick, Adam Keating, Kieran O'Connell and Muhsin Jelle. Jamie Kavanagh scored both for Newport.

Nenagh AFC 1-3 Aisling Annacotty
With relegation not a real threat for Nenagh AFC, the pressure is off somewhat, and on Sunday matters dictated when they were forced to field four youth players when Aisling Annacotty came to town.
The youngsters did well but current champions Aisling took a 2-0 half time lead through Paul Brennan and Joey Rushe. After the restart Adam Costello added a third for Aisling with Colm Hayden heading home Nenagh’s reply.
Nenagh AFC: Conor Hodgins, Lee Mowat, Colm Hayden, Conor McCormack, Nikki Cya, Dylan Morrison, Adam Ryan, Fionn Higgins, Hanniffy, Mattie O’Gorman, Saeed Ryan. Subs: Coilin Doris, Daniel Connolly, Dylan McKenna.
Lower Leagues
In the Division 1B Cup, Newport Town ‘B’ progressed after a 5-1 win at Meanus. James Collopy, Adam Power, Luke Ryan, Eoghan Flynn and Nathan Hartigan were the winning scorers.
In the same competition Nenagh AFC ‘B’ fell 2-1 to Lisnagry.
In the Division 2B Cup, Cian O'Donoghue (2), Cian McAuley and Daniel Tighe were on target as Lough Derg hit Summerville ‘A’ for four without reply.
Goals from Jamie Finn and Liam Hogan gave Nenagh AFC ‘C’ a 2-1 win over Lough Derg ‘B’ in Division 3A while Dan Egan and Johnny Ryan scored for Newport Town ‘C’ in a 2-1 win over Shelbourne ‘B’.
Nenagh AFC fell 3-0 to a good Aisling Annacotty side in the Youths Premier League.
