Tidy Towns groups celebrate results

Tidy Towns committees across North Tipperary are celebrating this year’s results, which saw increased scores in every participating town and village.

Terryglass attained the highest mark on this side of the county with 376 points, closely followed by Birdhill (372) and Silvermines (371).

Nenagh also performed strongly in 2024 with a score of 362 points, while the towns of Roscrea and Templemore were awarded 356 and 328 points respectively.

Rathcabbin increased its score on last year by 21 points, the highest increase of marks in the county, resulting in a special Endeavour Award.

Announced last Friday, the results saw Aglish score 250 points, Ardcroney (290), Ballina-Boher (357), Ballinahinch (326), Ballinderry (323), Ballingarry (338), Ballycommon (313), Capparoe (316), Carrig (335), Cloughjordan (343), Dromineer (283), Kilcommon (321), Killoscully (362), Lorrha (359), Newport (313), Portroe (358), Puckaun (334), Rathcabbin (282), Rearcross (323), Riverstown-Killeen (311), Shallee (295), Toor (322), and Upperchurch (320).

Ballincollig in Co Cork was named Ireland’s Tidiest Town and Overall winner of Ireland’s Tidiest Large Urban Centre.
