Impressive displays from Roscrea Comhaltas at the Fleadh

Roscrea Comhaltas would like to congratulate all branch members who took part in Fleadh Cheoil Thiobraid Árann competitions, which were held in Newport recently.

The branch would like to wish the very best of luck to all competitors, who will go on to represent Co Tipperary in the Munster Fleadh, which will be held in Thurles in July. Competitors are as follows:

Daniel Coonan - first in Fiddle (O18), second in fiddle slow airs(O18), second in whistle (O18) and second in whistle slow airs (O18). Teacher – Lucy McCarthy Flannery sisters Emma and Claire.

Emma placed first in flute slow airs (12-15) and second in whistle slow airs (12-15). Teacher - Orlaith Cleary.

Claire placed third (rec) in whistle slow airs (15-18) and qualified in Comhrá (15-18) . Maria Madden placed first in whistle, first in concertina and first in whistle slow airs (U15) Teachers - Áine and Eimear Gleeson.

Patrick F Meagher placed first in whistle slow airs U12. Teacher - Theresa Larkin.

Leah Scanlon placed first in flute slow airs (U12). Teacher - Theresa Larkin

Darragh Ryan placed second in English singing (15-18) Teacher – Tadhg Maher.
