North GAA Board confirm fixtures schedule for Club Championships

With the Tipperary senior hurlers out of the inter-county championship and the senior footballers struggling to progress from the group stage of the Tailteann Cup, it means the start of the club championships is edging closer.

And relating to that the North Tipperary GAA Board have confirmed an updated schedule with the start of their showpiece senior hurling championship now just under a month away.

Senior Hurling

The fixtures for the Hibernian Inn Senior Hurling quarter finals have been confirmed with the clash of Borris-Ileigh and Kiladangan set to kick things off on Wednesday, 19th June at 7.00pm, and the following evening sees Kilruane MacDonaghs take on Templederry Kenyons. Both fixtures are by agreements of the clubs involved owing to weddings involving players on the Borris-Ileigh and Kilruane panels on Friday, 21st June.

The quarter finals will resume on Saturday 22nd June when two-time defending champions Nenagh Eire Og take on newly promoted Lorrha at 7.00pm, with the final last eight game taking place on Sunday, 23rd June between Roscrea and Toomevara at 3.00pm.

The semi-finals will be played as a double-header on Sunday, 7th July with the final scheduled for Sunday, 14th July, two weeks before the start of the group stages of the county championship. All games will finish on the day.

Premier Intermediate Hurling

Both Premier Intermediate Hurling semi-finals are fixed for Sunday, 30th June, as a double-header with Ballina taking on Burgess at 2.30pm with Newport facing Silvermines at 4.30pm, with the venue to be confirmed. Both games are finish on the day.

However, should the Tipperary minor hurlers reach the All-Ireland Final which is scheduled for 30th June, both fixtures will go back to Saturday, 6th July. The final is scheduled for Sunday 14th July as a curtain-raiser to the senior final. All games will finish on the day.

Intermediate Hurling

Both Intermediate Hurling Championship semi-finals will be played as a double-header on Saturday, 29th June with holders Moneygall taking Shannon Rovers at 5.00pm with Borrisokane taking on Portroe at 7.00pm, with the venue to be confirmed. The final is fixed for Saturday, 13th July at 7.00pm. All games will finish on the day.

Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship

The start date for the Watch Centre Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship has been brought forward a week to the weekend of 21-23 June, with the second round on the following weekend but should the Tipperary minors be in an All-Ireland Final, that round will take place on Sunday, 7th July.

Junior ‘A’ Football Semi-Finals

Wednesday 29th May

Shannon Rovers v Portroe in Ballinderry @ 7.30pm.

Roscrea v Kiladangan in Roscrea @ 7.30pm.

The final is scheduled for Wednesday 5th June @ 7.30pm.

Junior ‘B’ Football Semi-Finals

Wednesday 29th May

Ballina v Moneygall in Ballina @ 7.30pm.

Nenagh Éire Óg v Burgess in Nenagh @ 7.30pm.

The final is scheduled for Wednesday 12th June @ 7.30pm.
