Livestreaming of music series from Tipp castle

The first of four livestreaming events of the music series “Anam” from OPW Heritage sites takes place on Thursday, May 9. This event will be livestreamed from the prestigious Ormond Castle and features talented artists such as Adrianne Lenker, Uly, and Muireann Bradley.

Across four episodes, ‘Anam - Songs for Hearts & Minds’ will take viewers on an inspiring musical journey, blending the magic of live performances with the beauty of Ireland's remarkable and significant historic landmarks.

Minister of State with responsibility for Office of Public Works, Kieran O’Donnell, stated: “Following on from the success of last year’s Other Voices music series as Minister for the OPW, I am very pleased that we are partnering once more with Other Voices and Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage. This exciting project will celebrate the links between the arts, culture, history and heritage sites across the country. I look forward to musical performances from some of Ireland's most talented artists – made all the more meaningful by the surrounds of these stunning historical buildings and locations.”

The livestreaming event will shine a light on these historic sites, each of which is an intrinsic part of their local community and economy, and are truly special places for visitors to enjoy. The performances will take place at Ormond Castle, Co Tipperary: Portumna Castle, Co Galway; Pearse Museum, Dublin; and Parkes Castle, Co Leitrim.

This music series will offer national and international audiences a virtual front-row seat at these unique performances. Anam will showcase uplifting music and song delivered in meaningful and historic heritage settings. I am pleased that we are shining a light on these historic sites- each of which is an intrinsic part of their local community and economy and are truly special places for visitors to enjoy”

Each episode of Anam will be streamed across the world via the YouTube and Facebook platforms of Other Voices and the OPW. Beginning at 8pm on 9 May, the series aims to celebrate established musicians and newly discovered acts. The eclectic line-up boasts a showcase of Irish rising stars, from Waterford’s breakout pop act Moncrieff, Dublin polymath Uly and AWAL-signed viral sensation Sarah Crean to the ferociously creative EFÉ.
