Encouraging words for rising stars

Awards night for Newport-Ballinahinch

High scorer, camán-wielding, Saoirse McGrath of the Tipperary junior camogie team had encouraging words for the young players when she presented the awards for 2023 to Newport-Ballinahinch club members.

She was doing the honours at the Community Centre, Newport where she encouraged commitment to training and playing to achieve the greatest personal satisfaction and enjoyment from camogie in their club.

While it all starts with the club activities, for some it is only the starting point for a career in the sport which can lead to playing at the highest level for their county at league and championship.

Newport-Ballinahinch Camogie Club Chairperson, Ger Gaffney congratulated Caoimhe Troy on her winning club crest design and presented the young artist with her prize.

He congratulated the U14 years, U16 years and minor teams on their achievements during 2023 on their performances in the plate and league competitions and wished them success in the coming season.
