Deteriorating national route

The N62 between Roscrea and Templemore is "deteriorating at a rapid pace," Cllr Shane Lee told the April meeting of Tipperary Co Council.

He said is also a problem of stormwater gathering on the national route. Cllr Lee was aware that Transport Infrastructure Ireland has accepted the need to upgrade this section of the route and he called on the national authority to be "more generous".

Senior Roads Engineer John Nolan agreed that the road is in poor condition. It is on the council's pavement scheme list. TII is progressing surveys with a view to commencing design next year; the estimated timeframe for construction is 2026, he advised.
