Nenagh gardaí warning over thefts and burglaries

Gardaí in the Nenagh District have issued a warning to drivers to be vigilant following a number of thefts from vehicles over the past week or so.

A quantity of tools was stolen from a van at Black Road, Newport, on April 9.

On Monday of this week a sum of money was stolen from a car parked at Gantly Road, Roscrea sometime between 12.20pm and 12.30pm.

Commenting on break-ins to vehicles in Tipperary, Sergeant Declan O’ Carroll of Nenagh Garda Station commented: “This continues to be an issue throughout the county.”

Meanwhile, business owners should note that counterfeit notes are being proffered in the district.

A dud €20 note was used in a transaction in the Ballingarry/Carrig area on April 8.

Sergeant O’ Carroll also urged homeowners to be vigilant after a number of recent burglaries.

On April 10 or 11 last, a mountain bike was stolen from a shed beside a house at The Mall, Roscrea. An attempted break-in occurred at a house in Moneygall in the early hours of April 8. In Nenagh, a burglary occurred sometime between April 8 and 9 at Ormond Street and tools were stolen from the property.

He urged people to get in contact with their local garda station if they know anything about the above crimes or saw anything suspicious.
