Book of Dimma exhibition and talk by George Cunningham

The Book of Dimma, the eighth century illuminated manuscript made in Roscrea, provided the Ballycommon Craft Group with the inspiration for a collection of varied, imaginative, and skillful textile works currently on display in Roscrea Library.

The Book of Dimma Project, facilitated by ETB tutor Lian Callaghan, has previously been shown in Nenagh Arts Centre and in the Thomas MacDonagh Museum in Cloughjordan.

The Ballycommon Craft Group are delighted to have the opportunity to show their work in Roscrea, and are pleased to announce that in conjunction with the exhibition, local historian and author George Cunningham will give a talk on the subject of Dimma and his world in early Christian Ireland.

All are welcome to the event in Roscrea Library on Wednesday, March 20, at 6pm.
