Ploughing championship back on
The North Tipperary Ploughing Championships had to give way on Sunday last to the bad weather throughout the previous week, which left land in poor condition. If the rain stays off for most of the week, the championships will go ahead this Saturday, March 9, at 12 noon on lands in Aglish, Borrisokane by kind permission of the owner - Eircode E45 W821.
Tickets are on sale at €5 each and can be purchased from any member of the committee and they will also be on sale on the day of the ploughing. There are cash prizes on offer as well as day passes to the National Ploughing next September. The draw will take place on March 30 in the Village Inn, Aglish, and all are welcome to attend.
The ploughing members extend a speedy recovery to former chairman James Hough and hope to see him back out ploughing in the not too distant future.
The site will be marked out this Wednesday at 2pm, followed later by a meeting in Paddy’s, Terryglass, at 8.30pm. All members are requested to attend.
