Tipp pupils impress at quiz finals

Nenagh Credit Union Schools Quiz

Nenagh Credit Union held the annual schools quiz in the Scouts Hall in Nenagh on Saturday, January 27. A total of 88 children comprising of 22 teams from 11 schools in the community participated in the quiz.

The Credit Union Schools Quiz has been one of the most popular and successful promotions undertaken by the credit union movement over the past number of years. The quiz is about encouraging learning and teamwork among young schoolchildren.

Held every year, this quiz offers an exciting opportunity for pupils to showcase their knowledge and compete in a fun and educational setting.

In a tightly fought competition Lissenhall National School were the winners of the Under 11 category and Carrig National School were the winners of the Under 13 category. Well done to both teams who now advance to the Regional Level which will be held in Templemore on March 1.

The regional winners secure a place in the highly anticipated national final, held in Dublin.

The national final brings together the most accomplished teams from across the country. These talented participants engage in a thrilling battle of wits, vying for the coveted title. The atmosphere is electric as the finalists demonstrate their knowledge, teamwork, and determination to emerge victorious.

I wish to thank all the children and their teachers from the schools in the community for participating. I also wish to thank our staff and the many volunteers who arranged the event and gave of their time to run the successful event of the day. I also wish the Carrig and Lissenhall teams the best of luck in the regional event on March 1.”
