North Tipperary Ploughing meeting
The Novice Ploughing match, which was set for March 2, has had to be postponed. A new date will be notified when one becomes available. The members congratulate Banagher College on their Leinster senior hurling final win. Our two young ploughmen Lee Hogan and Robert Duffy played a vital part in the school's success.
The annual ploughing championships will take place on Sunday, March 3, on lands in Aglish, Borrisokane, by kind permission of the owner - Eircode E45 W821. All those who are entering the championships are requested to register with the secretary on 087 779 3719.
Tickets are now on sale at €5 each for some valuable prizes with the draw taking place on Saturday night, March 30, in the Village Inn, Aglish.
Congratulations is extended to Joe Slattery, who has been selected to represent the Republic of Ireland as a judge for the European Reversible Ploughing Championships, which will take place in France next September. A speedy recovery is extended to vice chairman Eamon Murphy after his recent illness. We hope to see Eamon back at meetings in the near future.
The club’s next meeting will take place on Wednesday night, February 21, at 8.30pm in Paddy’s Bar, Terryglass. All members are requested to attend.
