Successful 'Festivents' pilot project

Destination Lough Derg's ‘Festivents’ pilot project received funding from Ireland's Hidden Heartlands and promoted five significant events in 2023.

These included the Resonance Festival and Quest Lough Derg in Killaloe and Ballina, and Shorelines Arts Festival in Portumna, all of which took place in September. The Dromineer Nenagh Literary Festival and Spleodar Halloween Arts Festival in Nenagh took place in October.

A bank of marketing assets was created to promote Lough Derg as a fantastic venue. This included a branded tool kit specifically for Festivents following the new Lough Derg brand. There was also a webpage link, a motion graphic video link, a ‘Lightwalker’ display with a projection onto St Flannan’s Cathedral in Killaloe. Social media coverage achieved more than 112,000 impressions,

The project will progress in 2024 and include listings for all project around the lake on www.discoverloughderg.ie.
