Toome artist’s exhibition at Nenagh Library
Nenagh Library is delighted to exhibit the work of talented anime artist, Keil Maher, during the month of October.
Keil (25), from Toomevara, has been interested in art from childhood and has long dreamed of becoming a comic designer and anime artist. Living with autism has meant many different challenges throughout his life and his drawing has been an escape from a busy, noisy world, a place where he can go and be himself, away from the stresses and anxiety of everyday living.
But his creations have also provided others with a window into his life and given them the means to better understand him.
Under the tutelage of his tutor, Richard Williams, with the support of his mother, Tracey and family members, he is delighted to showcase his work this month.
Many, though not all, of his paintings feature Star Wars characters, showing the influence that the iconic picture franchise had on Keil.
We hope that everyone, especially those with an interest in anime or comic book characters, will come along and see for themselves this huge talent.
Keil will be in the library on Saturday afternoon, October 21, from 2pm - 4.30pm, to talk about and answer any questions on his work in a ‘Meet the Artist’ session.
All are welcome.
