DNG Michael Gilmartin, Nenagh, brought the landmark licenced premises in Ballinahinch for sale by private treaty earlier this year.

Famous TV pub reopens

'Jacksie's’ pub, which became one of the best-known licensed pubs in the country for socialising after being a central location featured in the popular RTÉ television series 'Killinaskully', has re-opened after a short break following a recent change in ownership.

The pub, An Bonnán Buí, is located in the village of Ballinahinch and was purchased recently by Martin Kennedy, Newport, who is not new to the business having been involved in the running of the business premises for a period in the past under a lease arrangement.

Following the recent purchase of the premises, which had been on the market for some time, the licensed premises re-opened last week under the new management.

As a central premises in the village, the re-opening has been widely welcomed by the local community, who wish the new proprietor every success for the years to come.

QUIZ

A table quiz will be held at An Bonnán Buí, Ballinahinch, on Friday, October 27, with the proceeds going to the local national school. Community support for the event will be very much appreciated. It will also be one of the first community events at the premises following its recent re-opening under new management.
