Exhibition in Terryglass

Terryglass Hall has hosted many fascinating, varied and interesting events over the years, but last weekend was certainly unique with the staging of the Sunflower/Sonyashnyk Art Exhibition.

The brainchild of local artist Trish Taylor Thompson, the exhibition featured almost one hundred pieces of art celebrating the Ukrainian national flower.

A number of Ukranian adults and children staying in the area were involved in the production of some of the beautiful pieces with a large number of local artists, photographers and sculptors also contributing to the three day celebration.

On Friday, as part of Culture Night, a number of the Ukranian children living locally took part in a workshop where they painted bird boxes and sunflowers, Irish and Ukrainian flags and brought a lot of joy to the event. It was a very special evening.

As part of the event funds were also raised for the Irish Red Cross.
