Volunteers at work in Rathcabbin as they put the new hanging baskets up in the village.

Community spirit to the fore in Rathcabbin

There was great work taking place as Rathcabbin Tidy Towns were out in force and have been very busy over the last few months with two big projects just completed in recent days. There are now beautiful hanging baskets, planted with pollinator friendly plants, on the entrance road into the village. A big thank you to Denis Duffy, who made and erected the poles for this project.

A bee and butterfly friendly bed filled with 80 plants is now coming into bloom in the centre of the village for all to enjoy. A big thank you also to Eoghan Kennedy, Paddy Burke, Liam Dermody and Ciaran Young for their help in making this happen. Our thanks also to members of the committee who are out and about in the village, cleaning, sowing, painting and sweeping. We meet every Thursday evening at 7pm, so do please come along and help when possible.

We have other projects that we would love to undertake and with that in mind, we held a coffee morning in Rathcabbin Hall last Sunday. Anyone who couldn’t attend and would like to support can do so on www.idonate.ie.
