Renewed witness appeal over fatal road traffic collision

Gardaí remain at the scene of a fatal single vehicle road traffic collision involving a car that occurred at approximately 5.10am on Saturday on the R421 at Clonagh East near the Tullamore Golf Club in Tullamore, County Offaly.

The sole occupant of the car involved, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The R421 at Clonagh East near the Tullamore Golf Club remains closed and is expected to remain closed for a number of hours this afternoon. Forensic Collision Investigators are currently examining the scene. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí continue to appeal to any witnesses of this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R421 at Clonagh East in the vicinity of the Tullamore Golf Club between 4:45am and 5:45am are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
