Tragic death of Borrisokane artist

The death has taken place of Mark Newell of Milford House, Borrisokane.

Mark was the co-CEO of Live Art Ireland, which runs artist-in-residency programmes at Milford House. He was originally from Navan.

He was involved in a road traffic collision at Moyleen, Co Galway, last Friday, following which Mark passed away at University Hospital Galway.

Aged in his early 50s, Mark is survived by his partner Deej, daughter Aisling and step-daughter Bea, parents Eileen and Martin Joseph, sisters Sarah and Kate, brother Greg, God-daughter Riona, and "the many people who loved him from all around the world".

GardaĆ­ are still appealing for witnesses to the fatal road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the N65 at Moyleen, Co Galway at approximately 7.30am on Friday, May 12. The second driver, a male in his late teens, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
