Successful auction of farm land

REA Eoin Dillon offered two parcels of land for sale by hybrid auction on April 27.

PROSPECT

Parcel 1 comprised of 6.41 Ha (15.38 acres) at Prosect Puckane. The guide price was €160,000 and the opening bid was €130,000. The bids opened at €130,000 and travelled upwards fast in bid increments of €5,000 to €175,000 when the lands were put on the market. Bidding continued at pace in €5000 bids to €235,000, then €237,500, €240,000 and a closing bid of €241,000 or €15,670 per acre. There were two bidders in the room with a local property consultant Tom Berkery and solicitor David Kelly competing with one online bidder. The lands were knocked down to Tom Berkery acting for a local dairy farmer.

DRUMMINASCAR

Parcel 2 was a slightly larger parcel of 9.89 hectares (24.43 acres) was then offered for sale. The asking price was €225,000 and the opening bid was €150,000, then €160,000, €170,000 and €175,000. With two local farmers in the room bidding. The property was withdrawn at €175,000 and negotiations entered into with the highest bidder before the sale being sold for an undisclosed price. Michael Collins solicitors represented the vendors.
