ANZAC Day ceremony in Lorrha

The Lorrha Martin O’Meara VC committee will hold a short ceremony in commemoration of the anniversary of ANZAC Day, which falls on Tuesday, April 25, each year.

The ceremony will take place after 6.30pm Mass in Lorrha this coming Saturday evening, April 29, and all are welcome to attend.

ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps and the soldiers in those forces became known as ANZACs. The day is a commemoration of the anniversary of the landing of Australian and New Zealand troops at Gallipoli, Turkey, on April 25 in 1915.
