Winner of the sponsored teddy bear Caoimhe Kennedy is presented with her prize by Alzheimer Society of Ireland representative Breda O’Meara, together with Silvermines NS school Principal James Hayden.

Silvermines school raises funds

Silvermines NS hosted a No Uniform Day recently to raise funds for the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.

Local activist Breda O'Meara, who donated a handcrafted teddy bear to a draw in the school, praised all students for their efforts in raising €150 for the Alzheimer Society.

Addressing the senior classes and thanking them for their efforts and support, Breda said she is always “overwhelmed” by the support of schools throughout North Tipperary.

“We are very grateful for everyone's support and every euro raised goes towards such a worthy cause,” Breda said.

Thanks everyone for your support

School Principal, James Hayden, thanked all parents for their support and said it was very important as a school community to acknowledge the work of local charity organisations. “Breda has carried out tremendous work over the years in her efforts to raise funds for the Alzheimer Society of Ireland and we were only too delighted to oblige when she contacted us regarding a fundraiser this year,” Mr Hayden said.
