Tipperary senior hurling manager Liam Cahill has said his side won’t be holding back in this Saturday evening’s National League Division 1 semi-final with Limerick.

The Premier County completed a perfect group stage campaign with a 4-28 to 2-16 win over Antrim in Belfast on Sunday, setting up a semi-final with the All-Ireland champions who finished runner-up in division 1A.

The game has been fixed for this Saturday night in the TUS Gaelic Grounds in Limerick, as part of a return game from a home and away agreement between the counties going back to the 2018 semi-final which Tipperary won in Semple Stadium, after extra time.

With the Munster Championship now on the horizon just four weeks away, Cahill, who managed Waterford to league success last year before struggling in the championship, revealed what he has learned from last years missed-step to ensure it won’t happen to Tipperary this year.

“I have changed one thing with what I am doing with this Tipperary team,” he said compared to last year.

“We are doing the very same physical work and we are in the business of winning games. We want to get back into winning national titles and national leagues and we are going to have a go, starting next Saturday evening.”

Tipperary should have half back Ronan Maher available after he limped out of the Antrim game mid-way through the first half as a precaution with a dead leg.

Supporters intending on travelling to the game should be aware that traffic congestion is expected as Munster’s URC game against Glasgow takes place at the nearby Thomond Park, kicking off at 5.15pm.
