Drugs seizures in Nenagh district

Gardaí have made a number of substantial seizures of illegal drugs in the Nenagh district this month.

Members of the Divisional Drugs Unit seized suspected cannabis with an estimated street value of €2,000 in the Newport area last Friday. A smaller quantity of cocaine was also found in this search.

A separate seizure of around €500 worth of suspected cannabis was made in a Nenagh housing estate following an operation carried out by local gardaí last Sunday. These seizures follow a number of significant ones made in the Nenagh area earlier this month, including one of suspected cocaine valued at €4,500 and cannabis herb valued at €1,600 on March 1-2. One man has been arrested and charged in relation to these seizures.

In a further incident around the same timeframe, cocaine with an estimated worth of €1,700 and cannabis valued at €1,200 was discovered in the Nenagh area. Gardaí are preparing a file for the DPP and arrests are expected.
