Tourism buyers visit Mid-West

All last week, international buyers from around the world have been experiencing first-hand the tourism product in this regiion, as part of Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands, ahead of attending Meitheal, the most important travel trade event for the Irish tourism industry, organised by Fáilte Ireland.

Tourism experiences from across Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands, the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland’s Ancient East, and Dublin, were included on bespoke itineraries designed by Fáilte Ireland with the objective of showcasing the best of the Irish tourism offering and the unique holiday experience that awaits visitors to Ireland. The group of international buyers enjoyed a trip on the Killaloe River Cruise, with Stephanie Byrne, Fáilte Ireland and James Whelan from Killaloe River Cruises.

Meitheal, is the largest and most important trade event for the Irish tourism industry, gets underway on Monday (March 20) at the Gleneagle INEC in Killarney.

Significant business deals are expected to be signed over the next three days as more than 450 Irish tourism providers will pitch their business to 232 international buyers and tour operators from 17 countries.

The countries represented are Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, Great Britain and USA, including online Travel Agents.
