Nenagh Olympic Cross Country team for European Championships

Nenagh Olympic athletes will compete on the international stage after the clubs under 20 team have qualified for the European Clubs Cross Country Championships in Spain next year.

The team of Tom Walshe, Seán Hayes, Jamie Moloney, Daniel Ryan Ellis, Cian Hodgins, Thomas Bergin, Luke Purcell and Ben Walshe, coached by Seán Finn, finished runners-up in the All-Ireland Club Championships in Donegal last month.

That success has now been validated by being selected to compete for Ireland at the European Club Championships which take place on 5th February 2023, in Castellon, which is north of Valencia.

Most of these athletes have been with competing since they were six or seven years of age, and their success this year is all the more impressive considering the entire squad are also underage again next year.
