The Little Angels Tractor and Truck Run in Terryglass

Entries are now being taken for a big tractor and truck run which is taking place from Terryglass on Sunday, December 11.

There is going to be a real carnival atmosphere in the village for the Little Angels Tractor and Truck Run, which is organised by Denise Cahalan and Andrew Hogan in memory of their first child, Andrea, who was stillborn on December 1 2017.

Since blessed with a little boy, Aidan, who will celebrate his third birthday on December 8, Denise and Andrew organise the run every year in memory of their daughter and as a way of helping other parents who have had stillborn children to talk about and remember their offspring.

Not only is the run open to tractors and trucks, but cars and bicycles are also welcome and for updates of the event in the run-up to the start date you can visit the run pages on Facebook and Instagram.

The run is being staged to raise funds for Childhood Cancer Ireland and for Féileacáin, the not for profit organisation that provides support to anyone affected by the death of a baby during or after pregnancy.

Registration for the event can be made on the day from 11am to 12.30pm. The cost of entry for tractors is €20 and €30 for trucks. All vehicles must be insured.

Food and entertainment will be provided after the run and there will be an auction and raffle. Music will be provided by the Cork band, The Buachaills, and there will be trophies and prizes presented.

While the drivers are out on the road, a Roly toy run will be held in Terryglass itself. Children must bring their own pedal toy and must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.

Also taking place in the village on the day will be a Christmas Market, while on the eve of the event Kevin Mac will be supplying music in Paddy's Bar on that Saturday night. Overnight parking for tractors and trucks and others taking part will also be provided.

The Saturday night will also feature a display of Christmas Tractors, all lit up for the occasion, courtesy of Tuohy & Co, Borrisokane.

Denise and Andrew wish to thank all the sponsors who have supported the event and thanks also for the great help they have received in the community.
