Moneygall community planned outing to Limerick Racecourse

Limerick Racecourse will host Moneygall Community as the new social enterprise committee invite people to join them for a social gathering over the festive period at the Christmas meeting at Greenmount Park on Thursday, December 29.

This unique fundraiser is aimed to bring the community together for a fun day out and an opportunity to mix and meet during Christmas when so many are home visiting the local area. With a private function area, tipster, and a light lunch it will be a great day with various entertainment from racing and musicians.

To ensure a safe journey there will be buses travelling from Moneygall at 10am for the day meet and upon return to Moneygall the community celebration will continue in Ollie’s Bar where music and festive cheer will continue.

Tom Rudd, who manages Limerick Racecourse, said: “It will be an enjoyable day for everyone and we look forward to welcoming the community for a fun filled day or racing.” Denis Hogan, local horse trainer, also encouraged people far and wide “to avail of the offer with Moneygall Community and get to experience what is a great Christmas Festival,”

Chairperson on the organising group, Jeanette Healy, added: “It’s an opportunity for many to get to know and meet others in the community and enjoy a social outing with a difference, while also knowing that your day will benefit a new venture in Moneygall village.”

Tickets went on sale online via club store under Moneygall Development Association and tickets can also be purchased locally in Ollie’s Bar.
