Margriet's exhibition at Nenagh Library

Based in Terryglass but originally from the Netherlands, Margriet Schouwenburg has lived in Ireland for many years. She has exhibited in Nenagh Library on a number of different occasions and it is always a delight to welcome her back. This time she is joined by her husband, Henk, a talented wood carver, who has made several items, ideal for children’s rooms.

Wonderfully talented, this exhibition showcases Margriet’s skill at different crafts. Her philosophy is one of sustainability, preferring to re-use and upcycle where possible. Natural materials such as jute and fabrics like cotton are ideal for her fabric sculptures and using what she finds in nature, be it wood or seashells, she has created several delicate pieces for the home.

With Christmas on the horizon, staff were delighted to see her lovely Scandinavian-themed Christmas decorations. To own or to give as a present, they are perfect for this time of the year.
