Institute’s Farrell wins Snooker Super Seniors event

New Institute Snooker Clubs Patsy Farrell won the opening round of the National Super Seniors over 55’s in Carlow earlier this month. Sixteen players entered the competition with the notable exception of current National champion, Stephen Merrigan.

Patsy Farrell won four games to win the first ranking event, including two former professional players from England and Germany. In the semi-final, Patsy beat Simon Scott 3-1 and in the other semi-final, Kevin McConville beat Anthony Jacob 3-0.

The final between Patsy Farrell and Kevin McConville was another hard-fought affair with Farrell winning three frames to two with including pressure pots on the blue and pink in the final frame to win. The second round takes place in Dublin in early November.
