'A dream come true'

Happy homecoming for Nenagh performers

On the weekend of September 23-25, 125 students from Musical Theatre Academy Nenagh travelled to Trabolgan Holiday Village for three nights to compete at the All Ireland Variety Show.

A total of 250 competitors and parents travelled from Musical Theatre Academy Nenagh to the event. Each school competing had to perform a one-hour show full to the brim of singing, acting and dance, with as much variety as possible. The show was directed and choreographed by Stephanie Browne and musical-directed by Máire Long.

As well as being crowned All Ireland Variety National Champions, they also won: Best Variety Team (Tap), Best Creative Original (The Gathering), Best Backstage, Best Solo Singer (Jayden Guilfoyle), Best Solo Dancer (Camly Byrne), Senior Star of the Future (Adam Carroll), Star of the School (Gabija Tuloyste), Bravery Award (Penny O'Brien).

The full team travelled back to Nenagh on Monday week last where they had a very big homecoming at a packed hall of supporters and showed off all their silverware.

Stephanie described the weekend as "absolutely magical. "We just can’t believe the outcome; we are beyond proud of our amazing students. It’s a dream come true."
