Golds for McDonald at World Rowing Championships

Moneygall’s Ken McDonald won three gold medals at the Masters World Rowing Championships held in Lilbourne, France last week.

McDonald, a fitness instructor at the Garda College in Templemore, won the gold medals representing Ireland in the men’s 8s and 4s.

After a break of two years due to the pandemic, the regatta took place in beautiful Libourne Rowing Centre. 3,200 athletes from around the world, including former Olympians and World champions raced over the 1000m course.

This was Ken’s second Masters World Championship having competed and won two Golds in Hungary in 2019. He is a former international rower with six national and three world records.
