Thin As Lizzy are just one of the bands to feature at the concert on the grounds of Nenagh Courthouse.

Nenagh concert for Ukraine

On Sunday, June 12, a major free outdoor concert, ‘Nenagh for Ukraine’, will be held on the grounds of Nenagh Courthouse. ‘Nenagh For Ukraine’ will feature international tribute band Thin Az Lizzy, Tradstone, Rev 20 featuring Collie Hogan and DJ JP O’Meara’s Beat on the Street.

The concert will be hosted by Reach Out radio’s Trudi Lalor and admission is free with 100% of all donations going towards the Irish Red Cross, Concern, UNICEF and Trocaire. A donation will also be made to CARMHA (Connection and Recovery in Mental Health and Addiction). CARMHA, which is based in Silver St, offers free-of-charge counselling and peer support to local people battling all forms of addiction and the associated mental health problems.

Event manager David Spain of Spain AV and Nenagh Live says: “After the success of the St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Nenagh, Spain AV and the Tipperary County Council hadn't planned on staging another large outdoor event so quickly. However, we think we could do some good while raising money for the bigger scheme of things and importantly, shine a light locally on the efforts of those locals doing their best to help and house those in need.”

Nenagh Live, Tipperary County Council, LLPSS Scheme, the Nenagh Guardian and Spain AV aim to raise vital funds for those affected by the conflict, as well as those who have been displaced. The Nenagh concert is inspired by the incredible level of public support from the people of Nenagh and Ireland for Ukraine to date.

Doors open at 1.30pm, first act on at 2pm.
