Junior ‘A’ Hurling League: Borris-Ileigh claimed the North Junior ‘A’ Hurling League title last Friday in Templederry after an exciting 3-15 to 0-23 win over Toomevara. A late David O’Connor point proved to be the winning score for Borris-Ileigh with their winning captain Shane McCormack accepting the Denis Carroll Cup after the game.

Junior ‘B’ Hurling League: Group 1 action concluded last Friday with Burgess and Ballinahinch drawing 1-15 each. Both Ballina and Newport had already progressed from this group to the knockout stages.

In Group 2, Nenagh Eire Og had a slender 3-12 to 1-17 win over Portroe whilst Silvermines will travel to Templederry Kenyons this Friday at 7.30 pm. A big win for Templederry is needed in order to progress on scoring difference.

For the knockout stages, two out of the three top placed teams will be drawn straight into the semi-finals. The remaining top placed team will join the three second placed teams in the draw for the quarter finals. Ballina and Lorrha have topped Group 1 and Group 3 with both Newport and Borrisokane in second place. Kiladangan have progressed from Group 2 and will be joined by either Silvermines or Templederry Kenyons.

Junior ‘A’ Football Championship: Both semi-finals of the North Junior ‘A’ Football championship will take place on Wednesday 25th May at 7.00pm. Portroe will host Roscrea Inane whilst Newport host Kiladangan.

Junior ‘B’ Football Championship: In the preliminary round of the North Junior ‘B’ Football Championship, Kilruane MacDonaghs had a 6-7 to 4-7 win over Ballina last Wednesday.

Both semi-finals will take place this week. On Wednesday 25th May at 7.00pm, Templederry Kenyons will host Shannon Rovers whilst on Thursday 26th at 7.00pm, Moneygall host Kilruane MacDonaghs.

Under 13 Football: Hard luck to Newport who lost to a strong Clonmel Commercials side last Sunday in Dundrum in the County U13 ‘A’ Football Final.

Congratulations to Moneygall who claimed the County U13 ‘C’ Football title last Sunday in Dundrum after a 2-8 to 1-6 win over Grangemockler/Ballyneale.
