Burglary foiled in Nenagh

Gardaí apprehended a suspect in the course of an alleged burglary in Nenagh last weekend.

While on patrol in Silver St last Sunday, gardaí noticed that the front door of a business premises appeared to have been forced open. They entered a found a man hiding under a table. He was taken into custody and has been questioned at Nenagh Garda Station in relation to burglary offences.

Meanwhile, members of the Divisional Drugs Unit seized suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of €5,000 in Nenagh last Friday. The drugs, which were seized in the town, have been sent for analysis. A file is being prepared for the DPP.

A male and a female were arrested in what gardaí have described as a serious public disorder incident at Banba Squre, Nenagh, on Wednesday of last week. An iron bar was recovered in the incident, which occurred around 5pm. Investigations are continuing and there may be further arrests.

Gardaí are also investigating two incidents of criminal damage at Kenyon St Car Park, Nenagh, overnight between Saturday and Sunday last. CCTV footage is being harvested and witness information is sought.
