Be vigilant as fraudsters strike in Tipp

Gardaí in the Nenagh District have reiterated their call on people to be vigilant in regard to so-called phishing crimes after a woman from the Roscrea area had “a large amount” of money stolen from her bank account after she interacted with a text from fraudsters purporting to be her bank.

Sergeant Declan O’ Carroll of Nenagh Garda Station said crimes of this nature were ongoing in the district and people needed to be vigilant.

In other crime related news, a woman in her 20s has been arrested in relation to a number of burglaries that occurred in Nenagh in October and November last year.

Meanwhile, a male was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving at Beleen, Nenagh, on Sunday last, and in the early hours of Monday two males were arrested and conveyed to Nenagh Garda Station following a suspected breach of public order at The Mall, Roscrea.
