Garda appeal as female assaulted in Nenagh

Gardaí are appealing for a witness to an alleged assault in Nenagh to make contact with them.

An incident occurred near the library on O’Rahilly St shortly after midnight last Wednesday/Thursday, January 6. A female sustained injuries. It is understood that a female witness assisted the injured party at around 12.15am. Gardaí are asking this person to please contact Nenagh Garda Station as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, gardaí have carried out several drugs searches in the Nenagh district over recent days. One search in Cloughjordan last Monday resulted in the seizure of suspected cocaine with an estimated value of €2,400. A local man was arrested and detained at Nenagh Garda Station for questioning.

A separate search operation conducted in Nenagh between Monday and Tuesday led to the discovery of suspected cannabis valued at €870. No arrests were made. Files are being prepared for the DPP in respect of both searches.
