Fifth Year Art students from St Joseph’s CBS visit Nenagh Castle.

JFK Forensics Day at Nenagh CBS

Third Year students at St Joseph's CBS in Nenagh turned crime solvers when they attended the JFK forensics workshop that visited our school. The students had to study the evidence which included bullet analysis, virtual reality reconstructions of the motorcade in Dallas, gunpowder chemical analysis to name but a few. They then had to draw conclusions and decide whether the conspiracy theories held any merit.

French Debating Success: Nenagh CBS are thrilled to announce that their Fifth year French debating team (Eoin, Bobby, Filip and Emmet) have advanced to the quarter final of the National French Debating Competition “Les Joutes Oratoires”. They defeated the Dublin School St Mac Dara’s CC in the previous round, debating the motion “should the voting age reduced to 16 years of age”. Ms. Healy, was very proud of her students’ performance and they continue to grow in confidence as they progress through the rounds. Bravo!

Enterprise competition: On Thursday, December 9, all Transition Years took part in the Student Enterprise Competition. As part of this the students set up a Christmas Market to display their products. Tina Mulhearne from Tipperary Local Enterprise Office judged the products and interviewed all the students on their work.

The students through to the County Final are Black Sheep Chocolate (Michael Kyne and Dylan Dorris) Eco Ware (Josh Lenihan, Jim Paxman, Robert Mandrila) Appollo Beats (Skirmantas Stulga) and Animal Dosing Tray(Jack Harford, Liam Grace, John Mulivihill and Michael Ryan).

Well done to all involved including their teachers, Ms Gillian Wallace and Ms Bríd Gleeson
