Tractor Run and fun in Templederry

On Sunday, December 12, Templederry NS is hosting a tractor run, timber auction and bring-and-buy sale to raise funds for the local national school.

Registration for the Tractor Run will be taken on the day in the village at 12.45pm, and the event itself will commence at 2pm.

An appeal has been made to tractor owners, including vintage tractor owners, to take part in the event, which will last for about an hour and take a scenic route from the village and back again.

The organisers, the Board of Management of the school, are hoping to have up to 100 tractors taking part in the run. The entry fee is €20.

The “big” tractor run will be preceded by a Mini-Tractor Run for children, which will be staged around the walking track at the GAA field in the village at 1pm.

It will also be a day for people from the locality and beyond to flock to the village, where a bring-and-buy sale will commence at 12.30pm, affording people the ideal opportunity to stock up on goodies for the festive season.

Burgers and lots of other appetising edibles will be on sale, as well as teas and refreshments for all the family to enjoy.

TIMBER AUCTION

A timber auction will be staged in the village on the day at 1.30pm, ensuring those who purchase will have those logs on the fire this Christmas.

Funds generated will be used to purchase much needed equipment for Templederry National School.

Present for the day’s festivities will be members of the Ó Riain Cup winning Templederry senior hurling team and the big man, Santa Claus, will also be paying a visit.

Come along to Templederry for what promises to be a great day. The local national school would like to thank you for your support.

The expenses of dealing with the pandemic and the cancellation of traditional methods of fundraising has resulted in extra funds being needed in the school.

Upgrading works have taken place in the school in recent years to provide a wonderful education facility in the community. New facilities include an astro-turf pitch.

Those willing to provide items for the bring-and-buy sale can contact Mary Ryan on 087- 2739987.
