Socks for the homeless this Christmas

A young Nenagh teenager is collecting socks to donate to homeless people this Christmas.

Molly Gillick (14) of Carrig Rua was inspired to help the large number of homeless people she saw on a recent visit to Limerick. She wanted to do something to help in some small way and got in contact with a homeless charity in the city. She was informed that socks are among the items they need but seldom receive.

Molly, a Third Year student at Nenagh College, set a target of gathering 750 pairs of socks for the homeless this Christmas. To date, she already has over 500 pairs!

If people would like to donate socks and provide a bit of warmth to homeless people this Christmas, they can contact Molly's mother Caroline or her dad Vincent on 086 2104020.

She also has a collection box in Nenagh College, or people can contact her through Facebook.
