Specsavers County U16 Ladies Football Finals

'A' CHAMPIONSHIP Final

Moycarkey-Borris 3-8

Boherlahan Dualla 0-8

A magnificent performance by Moycarkey Borris saw them add the County Under 16 'A' Tipperary Ladies Football title to add to their U16 A Camogie title.

Boherlahan were first off the mark with an Emer Dwan point. However, Moycarkey replied from Ciara Shelly and dominated much of the play for the first quarter and were 0-4 to 0-1 up by the first water-break.

Moycarkey were unlucky not to have put more daylight between the sides but for the heroism of Caoilinn Casey who pulled off four vital goal saves. Eventually Mia O’Meara found a way past Casey to put Moycarkey six points to the good. Boherlahan fought back and trailed 1-4 to 0-3 at half time.

Boherlahan were in the ascendency and tagged on three unanswered points on the resumption, all coming from the boot of Anna Murphy. Moycarkey were finding it difficult to find their rhythm. Midfielder Sarah Corcoran led the charge first with a point and then soloed up field and sent the ball to the back of the net. Taking advantage of a now shell shocked Boherlahan defence Ciara Shelly tightened their grip when she also found the back of the net less than a minute later. There was still time for Boherlahan however Moycarkey’s Molly O’Dwyer played a starring role when she denied an Emer Dwan penalty in the 48th minute. Dwan did however get add a point, however, Moycarkey tagged on three further points to seal a famous victory.
