Intermediate Camogie Championship Round-Up

Knockavilla Kickhams 0-12

Cahir 0-6

Knockavilla have made it three wins out of three after a low scoring game with Cahir in Dundrum on Saturday.

Emer Heffernan’s scores from play and placed balls were the difference as Knockavilla were never really threatened after they surged into a 0-6 to 0-1 first water break lead. Roisin Howard was very influential in the middle for Cahir, but Knockavilla were able to introduce county senior Ereena Fryday, who is nursing a knee injury, at halftime.

Kilruane MacDonaghs 5-8

Newport/Ballinahinch 3-4

Played in Cloughjordan, this game was a first half goal-fest with the halftime score of Kilruane 4-4 to Newport’s 2-4 with Kilruane’s Marie Ryan getting their first goal after a Laura Shinners side-line cut.

A goal each during the third quarter kept this match in the melting pot and even a Kilruane red card after 58 minutes did not prevent Kilruane recording their first win of the championship by a ten-point margin.
