Community Library in Portroe

Portroe Tidy Towns has recently installed a Community Library in the village, located across from the village hall.

The Tidy Towns group was recently approached by local resident Ruth Swanton about setting up a Community Library in the village.

The committee thought this was a fantastic idea and would be a great addition to the village.

We picked a suitable design and local man Willie Fitzgerald built us a well made and durable book library.

The new Community Library is located across from the hall and was officially opened by Ruth in recent weeks.

The library has been a huge success since it opened and we would encourage everyone to pay it a visit and avail of the the large selection of books for both children and adults.

The ethos of the community library is to ‘Take, Leave and Share’ books. And if you fall in love with one of the books you are welcome to keep it. Again, a special word of thanks to Ruth and Willie.
