Féile moves to Birdhill

Féile Forever, a celebration of Tipperary’s famous festival series of the ‘90s, is moving from Thurles to Birdhill this year.

Jerry Fish, The Frank & Walters, Paul Noonan (Bell X1), The Funk Junkies, The Alvin Purple Experience with host Will Leahy and DJ NDT have been announced for the Birdhill festival, which is to run from September 2 to 5.

“It’s 31 years since the first Féile festival in Tipperary and, in a year like no other, we present a series of events like no other,” states the promotion blurb on the Trip to Tipp website.

“All the shows will happen in a specially-built outdoor concert venue from the same team who revived Féile at Semple Stadium in 2018 and 2019.”

It is understood that the venue will be sited at Bolands’, Ballyhane, in an undercover outdoor space with bars and food trucks. The organisers are to provide a fully socially-distanced venue with tickets available in pods of four.

The event is produced by CWB and part-funded by the Dept of Tourism, Culture Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media from the Live Performance Support Scheme.
