Accolade for Cloughjordan museum - ceremony on Zoom

As the first half of 2021 draws to an end the Board and Management Committee of the Thomas MacDonagh Museum has taken time to reflect on the strange year it has been. With the support of our team of volunteers we succeeded in keeping the doors open for our visitors last summer and since the reopening in May.

We would like to take this moment to offer our sincere thanks to you and all who have given their support, at any time, since we opened to the public in 2013. We are particularly grateful to the staff at The Nenagh Guardian for supporting the museum, through the many articles and photographs of events published in your paper.

As you are aware in 2020, we achieved full museum accreditation – no mean feat considering the abrupt switch to an online format. To find ourselves reaching the same standards as national museums is an achievement, particularly as this is one of the few volunteer led museums. Your support for the museum has helped us to pursue this award which puts the museum and its collections in a strong and sustainable position going forward in uncertain times.

AWARDS CEREMONY

The awards ceremony was held this Tuesday, July 27. To attend the virtual ceremony registration is required: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_WXJwwwPCTXisgcyYLGe2Hw

Now we are ready to further our museum mission and to launch an exciting range of activities which will introduce new audiences to our expanding collections. We are aiming to return to opening from Tuesday - Sunday, 1-4pm, from August 3
